Accessibility Statement
Aviation lost decades of talent to gatekeeping. Our corner of it, this website, is built so a screen reader, a keyboard, or low vision never stands between you and a flying career. Here's what we've done and how to tell us where we've missed.

Our Standard
We build and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessibility is part of our build checklist, not a bolt-on: every new page ships with semantic structure, labeled controls, and contrast-checked color before it goes live.
What's Built In
- Accessibility toolbar. The circular button in the corner of every page opens controls for text scaling, high contrast, a dyslexia-friendly reading font, link highlighting, reduced motion, grayscale, and a reading guide. Your choices persist between visits on your device.
- Keyboard navigation. Every menu, form, accordion, and control on this site operates by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link as the first tab stop.
- Screen reader support. Pages use one H1, ordered heading levels, landmark regions, alt text on meaningful images, and ARIA attributes on interactive components like our mega menu and accessibility panel.
- Motion respect. The site honors your operating system's reduced-motion setting automatically, and the toolbar can force it on regardless.
- Readable defaults. Body text sizes, line lengths, and color contrast meet AA ratios in the standard theme, and forms use real labels, not placeholder-only fields.
- Translation. A Google-powered translation toggle in the header serves readers working in other languages.
How Each Tool Works
The accessibility panel, reachable from the round button anchored to the lower-left corner of every page, applies its settings instantly and remembers them between visits using your browser's local storage, never our servers. Text Size steps the entire site's type up in two stages, and every layout on the site is built to reflow rather than clip when it grows. High Contrast deepens text colors and strengthens image overlays for low-vision reading. Readable Font switches body text to Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute specifically for readers with low vision and dyslexia. Highlight Links underlines and tints every link so color perception is never required to find one. Reduce Motion halts animations and transitions for vestibular comfort, and the site honors your operating system's reduced-motion preference automatically as well, with no panel visit needed. The two settings work independently, so a device-level preference never needs to be repeated here. Grayscale removes color entirely for readers who find it distracting. Reading Guide draws a horizontal rule that follows your pointer to hold your place in long passages. Reset All returns every setting to default with one press.
Beyond the Widget
The deeper accessibility work is invisible: semantic headings in logical order on every page, a skip-to-content link for keyboard users, visible focus outlines on every interactive element, alt text on meaningful images, form fields with real labels, and color choices checked against WCAG contrast ratios. Keyboard users can operate the entire site, including the mega menus and the accessibility panel itself, without a mouse. The mobile layout keeps tap targets at comfortable sizes and respects device safe areas.
Known Limitations
Honesty beats a perfect scorecard. Two items on our watch list: first, the Google Translate service, once activated, injects an interface we don't fully control, and its accessibility is Google's work, not ours. Second, some licensed photography is decorative and intentionally hidden from screen readers; if any image carrying information lacks a useful description, that's a defect we want reported.
Testing and Review
We test with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom to 200 percent, automated contrast and structure checks, and screen reader spot checks on each template. We re-review the site when templates change and on a recurring schedule, and this statement's date updates when we do.
